1. Controller and contact details

The data controller is 3TC Group Limited, trading as Pet Centre, company number C105872, VAT number MT30309632.

Contact: info@petcentremalta.com. Shop address: Pet Centre, Main Street, Mellieha.

2. Information and how we receive it

Pet Club registration collects your name, mobile number and email address. Depending on the interaction, we may also need enquiry details and information connected with a purchase, loyalty stamps or rewards, a complaint, a service request or an arranged delivery. We receive information you provide in the shop or through your communications with us.

3. Purposes and lawful bases

  • Membership and loyalty administration: to register and administer the scheme you request, using the information necessary to perform our membership arrangements.
  • Purchases, enquiries and customer service: to take requested steps before a transaction, fulfil agreed arrangements and handle related communications. A general enquiry or claim may instead involve a properly assessed legitimate interest in responding and resolving it.
  • Legal obligations: where records or disclosure are required by tax, accounting, consumer or other applicable law.
  • Claims, security and fraud prevention: where necessary and proportionate for documented legitimate interests, subject to your rights.
  • Promotional marketing: on valid optional consent, or where a lawful existing-customer exception applies.

A lawful basis is not a general permission to collect unnecessary information.

4. Pet Club and optional marketing

Joining Pet Club does not automatically enrol you in promotional email or SMS. Marketing choices must be optional and initially unticked, and declining marketing must not prevent membership. Membership administration and purchase-related communications are separate from promotions.

Optional marketing consent: Yes, I’d like to receive news, special offers, promotions and product updates from 3TC Group Limited, trading as Pet Centre, by email and SMS. I understand that I can unsubscribe or withdraw my consent at any time.

Marketing choices must be recorded by channel, including when and how consent was given, the wording presented and later preference changes or withdrawals.

5. Existing members and withdrawal

Pet Club membership alone is not evidence of marketing consent. Promotional email and SMS require valid consent unless a lawful existing-customer exception applies. Where that exception applies, messages must concern similar products or services and customers must have an opportunity to opt out when details are collected and in each message.

You may withdraw marketing consent or object to direct marketing at any time, free of charge, using the message’s unsubscribe method or by contacting info@petcentremalta.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. Necessary service communications may continue on their own lawful basis. Keep only the suppression information needed to honour your choice.

6. Recipients and necessary sharing

Where needed for a relevant purpose and lawfully justified, information may be shared with:

  • Delivery and logistics providers to arrange or fulfil a confirmed delivery.
  • Suppliers, distributors or manufacturers to investigate product enquiries, defects, complaints or warranty claims.
  • Website, hosting, maintenance and communications providers supporting the relevant service.
  • Professional advisers, authorities or other recipients where legally necessary or required.

Share only the information reasonably necessary. Providers acting only on our instructions require appropriate processor arrangements; recipients deciding their own purposes may be independent controllers.

7. Retention

Retention must reflect the purpose: membership and reward administration, resolving enquiries or claims, meeting applicable recordkeeping duties, and documenting preferences. Delete or anonymise information when no longer needed, unless a legal requirement or justified claim requires retention.

8. Cookies, website services and technical data

Our website includes an enquiry form, embedded Google Maps and links to Facebook, Instagram and Google. Third-party services have their own privacy information, and their processing depends on the services you choose to use.

9. International transfers and security

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism is required, such as an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about relevant transfers and safeguards.

Personal information must be protected with appropriate technical and organisational measures.

10. Your data protection rights

Subject to the GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You have a particular right to object to direct marketing. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Rights can be subject to legal exceptions, such as required recordkeeping or defending a claim.

Send requests to info@petcentremalta.com. Requests should be handled within the GDPR time limits, normally one month, with any lawful extension explained.

11. Complaints and independent advice

You can raise a concern with us and may complain to Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner. You do not have to complete an internal complaint process before exercising your right to complain to the authority.
